Brooklyn Bridge Anchors

Spots: Brooklyn — Downtown & Fort Greene

Spot: Around the entire perimeter of this wooden pier are anchors that double as benches. They’re all average bench height, have a small indent, which is a relative non-factor. The edges are all rounded, so you could imagine that things like crooked grinds wouldn’t work as well. Although they may appear to be wide enough for boardslides in footage, they are more like generic ledges than actual flatbars. The spot is mostly skated for photo opportunities, as it is a prime viewing space for the Brooklyn & Manhattan Bridges, the skyline, etc.

Bust — ♦♦ / Occasional: There are rare times when maintenance people from the park will tell you to leave. Otherwise, the pier, being right by Grimaldi’s and one of the most famous views on the planet, is a predictable tourist hub. So nighttime, weekdays, winter, etc. would all be prime times to go here to minimize on the crowds.

Location: Old Fulton Street and Furman Street in Downtown Brooklyn, right next to the Brooklyn Bridge. Take the A or C to High Street and skate west on Old Fulton Street until you hit the water.
