Washington Mutual

Spots: Brooklyn — Bushwick, Greenpoint & Williamsburg

Update — August 1, 2011: They installed rails in front of the banks, so you cannot skate here anymore.

Spot: One of the more recognizable Brooklyn destinations, this place is only worth seeking out if you have a specific trick in mind, i.e. nobody really goes here simply to skate around. The two banks are in a parking lot that is covered with very well-paved asphalt. They are both short and fairly steep, and the gap between the two is approximately four feet. You can either gap from one to the other or wallride over the bricks.

Bust — ♦♦ / Occasional: Typically, you should not get kicked out of here, but occasionally a bank manager or somebody else from the building may complain. The bank is usually closed by 5 P.M. or on weekends, so it is fair game then if you do happen to get kicked out.

Location: Graham Avenue and Grand Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Take the L train to Grand Street and skate two blocks west on Grand. The spot is in the bank parking lot. It was turned into a Chase, so do not look for a Washington Mutual sign.
