Popeye’s Rail

Spots: Brooklyn — Bushwick, Greenpoint & Williamsburg

Spot: In front of this Popeye’s is a concrete platform with a useless (in a pedestrian sense) short flatbar running parallel to it. The rail is round and only about four-feet long. It’s under two-feet in height off the platform, and you need to weave off the side to avoid hitting the ledge below when coming off. There’s a slight bump up to it as well. There’s a basement door at the far end of the Popeye’s, so when filming lines here, people typically ollie up the platform, do a trick over the door, and end on the rail.

Bust — ♦♦♦ / Half-and-half: Usually, you just need to look out for people opening the front door when skating it, but it’s not completely unlikely that a manager or someone from inside will tell you to leave.

Location: Myrtle Avenue and Bleeker Street in Bushwick. Take the M train to Knickerbocker Avenue and skate east for three blocks until you hit Bleeker.
