If you have spent an excess of 24 hours in New York City, you are more than aware that the MTA is the worst organization in America. But beyond the infinitely relatable misery of rotting in a train station at 3 A.M., desperately waiting for a light to appear at the end of the tunnel for an hour (and having it turn out to be a service train that doesn’t take passengers…) plus everything in between (service interruptions, no weekend service, probably no service on weekdays either, no service after midnight, minimal rush hour service, tickets for taking up more than one seat, overcrowded trains, not enough trains, fare hikes, thoughts of suicide, thoughts of mass murder, etc.), the ONE redeeming fact of the MTA, is that it is often an inadvertent comedy show. A comedy show of the “trife” variety.
Another week, another crazy subway video. This week, it’s some guy licking his shoe for a few minutes. Next week, it will be something else. Here’s a look back at some of the MTA’s trifer moments throughout the past year. Please weigh in on the trifest one of all.
The aforementioned shoe licker…
Last week’s viral video craze, the naked racist (you can’t hop a turnstile without getting caught anymore, but it takes them four minutes to arrest this dude)…
The legend himself, BLOODY LOCO. “Recognize dat shit, ASAP! You want to get off the train right now? We could shoot it up, ASAP!”
The subway rat AKA why you never want to eat anything on the subway. Ever.
The infamous Christmas Day 6 train fight…

6 Train forever.
