Rodriguez says this image “shows the area that will be closed for the 4 years after they paint the overpasses. Everything to the left of the red line will be behind a temporary wall (the line goes all the way to Rose street- that is the closed road between the big banks and the small banks) This will pretty much make the actual ‘banks’ unrideable because as we all know it is very difficult to ride them from such an extreme angle.”

If you want to read all the details, they’re all over here.

  • just a thought: Why are out of towners so lame? Is it just cus they reflect the wasckass town theyre from? or is it cus theyv’e never been social before. or are they just WAY2 siked to be in NY (wow the big apple). why do they think it makes them more cool to know more about new york and places in it. it doesn’t!, especially to a newyorker. glad ur learning about the city and enjoying yourself but keep it to yourself. Also stay outta my fucking neighborhood. Okay Bro Dude Chillen?

  • the real reason you don’t say hi is because you’re a pretentious faggot who thinks you own the entire city of new york because you were born there…like the people who founded new york…oh wait, they immigrated.

  • once again nobody should be calling anyone a faggot who uses wordslike pretentious when discussing skateboarding. you guys need to stop fucking crying or grow up. nobody is trying to make more friends skating anymore that shit is for sixteen year olds. everyone gets vibed out: its happen to me in boston, philly, san francisco. did i cry about it and blame the locals and try to use big phrases i learned from listening to npr for fifteen minutes? no. so shut up please. its skateboarding. skate with your friends. and dont act like a dick to people that ghave skated spots for ten years thinking youre entitled to be there just as much when your gay crew rolls up fifteen deep with two cameras and gets them kicked out. if you cant see why they dont like you, grow the fuck up/

  • it has nothing to do with trying to make friends, its just the proper thing to do wherever you are, especially if you decide to stare at them for 5 minutes like its a fucking zoo. and lets not be biased about the whole thing, if you don’t like the word pretentious, you probably hate reading this blog whenever they use words like blossoming, essentially, or bohemian lifestyle. and “try me” I don’t know why out-of-towners are so lame, ask billy rohan next time and see what he has to say about people from florida.

  • Everyone whining about not being ‘accepted’ needs to stop crying and take note of a few things.

First, you’re complaining about quartersnacks/supreme/whatever crews not liking you for being an out-of-towner. Chad, you need to read between the lines and realize that this site has featured people in clips from non-NYC places such as Texas, Florida, Connecticut, and many more. The simple fact is, it has way more to do with you (or any other whiners) just being a fucking goon.

Second, just fucking relax. This site has a GUIDE TO NYC SKATESPOTS and simultaneously seems to want to bring back the early 90′s era of NYC skate thuggery by way of skating the cube, hating on out-of-towners, etc. It’s all actually pretty amazing if you just take a step back. It’s hilarious actually. Just skate, do what you want, don’t act entitled, and grow the fuck up.

Finally, as many people have said, it’s just fucking skateboarding. I’m not some burnt hippie who is suggesting that you love every skater just because they skate, I’m just too old to let those attitudes bother me; on the contrary, the shit is awesome. Friends are friends, kooks are kooks, and even though I may think many of you are kooks, if I ever see any of you in a tough situation with some fucking douchebags; if Zander and Dante are trying to fuck with you, I got your backs, or I’m going down with you. Even though I’m not friends with everyone for the sake of it, there are still some leftovers in my brain from the old days before dudes in flip-flops were on long boards ‘boarding down the avenues’.

    Keep it coming snackman!!!

  • Ever hear of the banks? Put it this way 12 or 15 years ago youassholes would have gotten jumped and robbed if you rolledup there. Now you’re getting what? Looked at? Oh my god they’re staring at us!!!! What a bunch of assholes who suck at skating! Don’t they know we are hometown heroes back home?!!!

It’s not that bad. Be glad you’re no longer in a era where you get jumped for your board. Read up on NYC skating of ten years past and stop complaining.
