In an effort to insult the constant expansion and revision of standards in this wholesome, all-american activity we call skateboarding, our first official clip of the year (it has been a long winter) has made particular strides to provide an overabundance of below-league-regulation level ledge obstacles (also known as curbs), glitches, jacked audio and outdated spots that turn us back into the dark ages of New York — not when you’d step out your door and hear the crunch of crack vials underneath your Nikes, but when only one of your friends was fortunate enough to be blessed with the gift of doing a backside tailslide. I would call it “Bringing Sketchy Back Volume 2,” but I don’t think we’re quite on that level, so I might want to wait some time before a sequel drops because it would inevitably have to include footage of Gigliotti in a stylish hat (in the LES sense). Be sure to THINK before you decide to flip-in to a trick next time. Here you go…

Features Ted Barrow, Miles Marquez, Galen Dekemper, Thando Beschta, Barry Livan, Pryce Holmes, Ty Lyons, Charles Lamb, Michael Gigliotti, Luke Malaney, Benjamin Nazario, the much-anticipated return of Watermelon Alex and the legend himself, Taji Ameen. Contributing filmers: Steven Garcia, Evan Walsh and Justin White.

In the company-wide Quartersnacks rankings, Reda has the second best video part of all-time, following Mariano in Mouse, so it is only right to honor his newest, all Berrics part with a proper post of its own. While it may not be as groundbreaking as his greatest work (comparisons would be unfair seeing as how it is the best video part of the decade, bar-none), it is quite a sight to behold.

Without further ado, skateboarding’s greatest coffee aficionado, Giovanni Luigi Reda.

3. We have awesome names like Giovanni Luigi Reda, Gino Iannucci, and Anthony Pappalardo. How cool does that sound and how gay does Kenny Anderson sound?

Kelly, get me the fucking wood finish!

If Brengar has internet access in Miami, this post will inevitably gather the highest amount of hate comments in Quarter Snacks history

If you have been following the two years of coming soon’s that have accompanied any mention of The Green Diamond video, I am sure you probably suspect that this video does not actually exist. It’s just an urban legend, like the third Dr. Dre album or a bust-free Manhattan ledge spot. However, there are several flyers circulating that state otherwise, and are promising a premiere in three weeks.

Features a Torey Goodall part.

There are two separate premieres, one for Yaje and another for the alcoholics. Both involve going to Brooklyn. Both are on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Flyer here.

The Yaje Premiere
8 P.M. @ the Autumn Bowl. 73 West Street, between Milton and Noble Streets in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

The Alcoholic Premiere
Midnight @ Enid’s. 560 Manhattan Avenue, in Brooklyn.
*requires neccesary government papers proving eligibility of consuming alcohol

Brengar has promised to review the video when it premieres. But the chances of him gathering necessary financial means and/or the motivation to make it 1000 miles north on I-95 in the next three weeks are rather slim.

48 Blocks recently posted this clip of Steven Cales and Ivan Perez skating around downtown in either 1995, 1996, one of those years, which seems like it was filmed for either a French television show, or a documentary of some sort — I can’t tell. Either way, it’s a good watch, even with the foreign narration (which I’m sure was full of nonsense about skateboarding that you already know). There’s a bit of footage on the little Banks and a touching moment when they walk into a shop and you can hear “Incarcerated Scarfaces” playing in the background, presumably right around the time when it came out. The clip is off of Deadline’s Youtube page, which also includes the legendary whiter teeth commercial with Harold Hunter, among other things.

If you have not already seen Luis’ clip on the Berrics website, watch it here. Somebody give that man a New Yorker of the Year plaque. Here are his tricks from Flipmode 4 just because.

The re-edit made it through a full page of analysis on behalf of the internet’s most intelligent and insightful group of individuals without a single negative comment. That is certainly a record.

The brick bank on 70th Street and First Avenue, in front of the senior home, was recently skate-proofed via the removal of random bricks, leaving the bank full of holes for your wheels to get caught in. It is a shame, considering the Upper East Side only has about six or seven spots to begin with.

I’m starting to notice something about all these questions I’m being axed. They’re really heartfelt.
And I appreciate that.

After many rave reviews following the circulation of the video on DVD-Rs, it is finally on the internet by popular demand.

Download from Mega Upload You need to sit through about 45-seconds before the link for a regular download appears, but it should download just as quickly as the Sendspace link.

I cannot put it up on Youtube because the majority of the music on it is copyrighted by Warner Brothers, who essentially has Youtube and Google video in a chokehold and disables the audio on pretty much any remotely popular song. And since I am not going to use the old excuse of “boo hoo rights are hard to get so I’m just going to edit the whole video to Animal Collective and singlehandedly the worst rap song ever since they are so down for the cause but at the same time put half of my audience to sleep,” I opted for other, lesser known hosting sites. Once again, you are much better off simply downloading the Quicktime file of the video from the links above.

But if you insist, an embedded video is after the jump.
